BMW CE04 electric money pit?

Twelve grand for an electric moped? That's a lot! Sure 80 miles of range is cool but honestly at that price you could grab a sweet adventure bike with a real engine and go anywhere. I get the electric vibe but most folks want a moped because it's cheap and easy right? This feels more like a rich person's plaything. Anyone else think you'd be better off with a cheaper electric moped or a proper gas bike for that cash? What features would make a pricey electric moped worth it to you? Maybe better suspension or faster charging?

You’re not wrong, $12K for an electric scooter is steep. BMW is clearly targeting premium buyers not the average commuter. You can get a solid gas-powered adventure bike for that price and actually go on road trips while the CE 04 is strictly urban with limited range. If it had better suspension 100+ miles of range or ultra-fast charging it might justify the price but right now it feels like more of a luxury statement than a practical choice.
